Martin's submission notes:
Hey Braaaaz;
Had quite a few to choose from this month.
Tried to deliver variety and quality not quantity. Always
fun playing with light & heat.
All images had standard crop and curves to suit.

NEXT MONTH TOPIC: Monochrome Portrait!

Sean's submission notes:
Ok Ok here you go a big
heavy inbox of subs!
Went a bit experimental this
month, all processed raws,
Garden swipe, fire wheel,
vitals, skated & painted
tadpoles all uncropped
Exploding light and Astral
projection made using laser
level?
Doubled up on a few just to
show you some mixed
results - that usually pisses
me off but hey I'm first so
you can now plagiarise..
Sean's Pick - and comments: "RING OF FIRE"
Alrighty then!
I can see that this month’s topic struck a playful cord in us both and I am liking the creative way you approached your submissions. I can only imagine
how many others hit the bin in this bunch.
I liked the trending head of yours in most of the subs which also evoked a theme but missed it on your last one? I got a fair bit of energy and pop
coming through to which is great to see.
Anyways my pick came down to the very impressive Ring of fire! Wow I like the intensity of this shot and the way you have framed yourself rather still
in the centre. The texture and diagonal composition of the slope works to bolster the movement and well did I say i am liking the intensity of this shot!
Exposure although hot I like the way it drops off to the foreground. Well done Print Frame!
- Second cab off the rank is “Avagoodweekend” whilst the dangerous activity hasn’t taken your head off (lucky) It is sort of a pest’s eye view
what your aeroguard flame thrower would see in its final moments. Not sure about the interesting balls of light – yes another layer you have
worked but perhaps over done by a factor or two. The comical spent darb noted as well as the bokeh fire? Cool.
- Dog on a leash, is my third pick – some nice light painting here – your head floating in space perhaps needed some shoulders too? Like the
way no light has spilled over other areas.
- Cuts so deep – was in forth place, yep I also thought of pulling my angle grinder to do something along these lines, Like the head in the shot
and is that the footy on too? Composition all over the place though.
- Signature dish, the name had me in but was not blown off my chair like my first pick.
Good work this month mate.

Martin's Pick - and comments: "LIGHT MUSIC"
Oh shiiiiiteeeee. Sorry bras thought I sent this about a week back..... All good as it was a rushed eval and I can now peruse and eval more thoughtfully.
I have even changed my pick (twice). So here it goes. The image which has now grabbed me by the clackers is Light Music. I think what swayed me is the
outstanding overall balance and interest all over the place. Whilst the light gizmo movement is fluid and smooth (very musical), it is the abstract,
silhouette and gnarly background which brings the shot to life. I do think that the landscape crop is too severe though. Would have liked a bit of extra
framing, but that may have crippled the balance - dunno.
Other images in order of merit:
- Unfinished business - This was my previous pick. I do think I judged with the heart and not the head. Brilliant, personal, cheeky, simple.
- Skated - Any other day this could have my top billing too. I just frigging like it. Tell me about it please.
- Astral projection - Again, pending my mood / sobriety, this could (and did for a while) take the gong. You have me guessing how the fuuuxake
you did it. Loooove the colour. Is this a hue change???
- Teleport - just very well executed. Tick.
- Garden Swipe - The exposure here is top shelf. Sure it may be simplistic hit and miss, but this is a big hit. Print very large.
No need to bang on about the others, except to say I felt the stock standard steel wool could have had a bit more punch. Really good bunch of subs
though. Fun times indeed. Now you have to get serious and present me with at least one killer portrait - thats right............Killer Portrait.
