Ok mate have been up and down the corridors of your submission this month – a few times and can see you were
a little strapped this month for time and lack of planning too. It may have been the subject being changed late with
our decision to repeat the photo subjects starting from our first competition over 4 years ago..
In my opinion your best image submitted is “Glazing” which I like for a couple of reasons surrounding colour, hand
pressure, medium used and composition all come together to evoke a pleasure or pain type of effect. Not bad.

- Sparky bubbles: probably over done the sparkle effect but I think you were onto something here. Nice
hint of Bokeh too perhaps DOF and focus out.
- Rabbit: nicely exposed but shot doesn't’ reveal the rabbit’s best features which I feel could have been
explored with some direction to the hand owners.
- Cheese: I like the side lighting but the focus is out, also when did kids start eating blue vein cheese?
- Plasma: The silhouetted hand on the high tech screen is a little lost in translation
- Nicotine: That photo is pretty ugly – or is that the darb? I dunno not my cup of coffee mate.
- Faucet: interesting grab but looks too staged.

Nice little bunch this month. Nothing really struck me as the winner this month which is a little
unusual.
After some debate, I decided to give it to the shot that I thought I could relate to the most. So top
spot for this month goes to Handout. I just think this shot agrees with me. The exceptional
composition (crop) that nails symmetry and the right DOF to give just enough topic. Looks like a
50mm lens shot?? Very nice.

- Desired – Great colours and nice lighting. I also like the feeling of movement. Good work.
- Handbar - Yup, thats gonna get you a couple of top shelf nips there. I again like the
lighting, maybe some special SB-900 magic? I think the pose of the hand looks a little
angry, and it could have been improved with the use of some bad ass brother jewellery
- HiddenHands – nice sharp shot with plenty of detail. The hands to me look a little
awkward, making for a confusing image. Still not bad.
- Hanz - Interesting. Good colours and PP work. Would make a nice print maybe.
- Holding the Moon – Hmmm. Not sure that this was the pick from your efforts with this
shot. Some detail in the moon may have improved this.
All in all some nice stuff. Just awaiting for you to unleash that flash unit!! NFQ.
