Feet in the Sand

Mate this shot is most impressive, it really stands out (pardon the pun) from the others and really illustrates the skill
applied. The illusion of the footprints actually popping out defies belief. I like the use of the afternoon sun and the
texture / colours of the sand. I bet you knew this was going to be the "keeper" of the pack.

Other image notes in order of merit

On the Pool Deck - Great shot of Bridgette and the sun rays work really well to the top. I can almost smell her hair
with the glowing locks deliberately positioned for effect.

Skirting the edge -  Although I can see where you were going on this shot I reckon if you just cut the return of the
pool out of the shot but left the life buoy in it may have worked better.

Smashed – Trippy shot causing 7 years bad luck  Good punch and colour – like the boldness of this image with
the sharp edge and neon light effect (Business card is it?)

Around the table – This image reminds me of some sort of Mississippi alligator scenario  - perhaps with only the one
dude looking at the camera and more of the bottom reflection for balance – perhaps also slightly rotated to the left.
Good shot.

Boy in Arnette – I have seen you use your sunnies before and it reminds me of another shot. Perhaps a bikini babe
would be more appropriate reflection but nice composition all the same.

Camera in hand –Must be some nice shit your onto over there? Cool image lost a little bit on the shard of glass – I
reckon the use of something more identifiable to the foreground would have worked better. Nice use of software and
shave your back soon. Good use of one hand

Cube 2 – A bit confusing to me but I like the colours

Great effort this month mate
Martins's Pick - score and comments

Great capture of the croc. Love the texture and subtle contrast. The shot is a little off topic with the primary focus of the shot being
neither shadowed or reflected. The reflection is very nice however, so it got my vote. Needed to have the leaf at the bottom
cropped out.

Other image notes:

Croc Pond - Don't like it. Too busy, no real focal point. Some overexposure. Poor cropping. Bin it.

Sess pool (sic) -    Terrific colouring, but little other interest for me.

Dark Leaves – Hmm interesting..... I'm trying to like this one, but the more I look at it, the more I have to rub my eyes. Was the
shutter speed too low?? You might have to get yourself one of those D700s.

White Poles – I love the textures, but I can't tune it to the topic? Am I taking crazy pills?

Monet – If there was a little bit more going on I would have chosen this one. Nicely lit and a good reflection. I just think that the
focus could have been on the foreground, and a reduction in the depth of field may have produced a superior image. Maybe
even a lower point of view.

Lair  - What is it? Is there something in there? Enderexposed... Maybe you could have hit it with a touch of flash. Sorry Bra, bin.

I gotta say I am a little disappointed with the lack of diversity this month. C'mon Bra Lets get a little bit exotic.

"Feet in the sand"
Martin's photo notes

Smashed – Busted up an old mirror, put the bits in a plate
and fired. Image cropped and “Gimp”ed heavily.

Around the Table – At a mates place on the beach. Image
cropped, contrast and noise boosted.

Boy in Arnette – NFQ. Image cropped.

Camera in Hand – This shot increased my shutter count
by about 100. Image cropped, threshold applied,
photocopy effect and tinted. The base image was not
worth shiiiite.

Cube2 – Image cropped, levels adjusted. Lighting this
puppy was difficult to say the least.

Feet in the Sand – Image cropped. Tell me you think this
is impossible….. Yup, this shot has not been touched.
Right angle of light gives the relief effect.

On the Pool Deck – Image cropped. Probably could have
improved this shot in the lab….. But nah.

Skirting the Edge – Image cropped, levels adjusted.
Taken early in the morning after a hard night.
