Sean's Pick - score and comments:
Hey nice bunch this month
I can see you are taking quite the interest again in chasing your shots which is excellent to
see. I like the fact that IN-site is up & running as well.
My pick for this month is Surgery – I am not sure if it is because I like images exposed this
way, or the fact that it hits topic very well. I think the use of a zombie looking dude sitting on
the bed with some Frankenstein stitches would have taken this shot into the surreal justifiably.
Other image notes in order of merit:
- 1924 Douglas – top shot mate that I would expect you will have printed and put on your
wall. The fact that you have played with taking a image and making it look like it was
taken back in the day is very creative indeed. Good work.
- Aquarium. OK OK i know you hunted this shot in April – not March so technically it can’
t come first.. but saying that I really dig the composition and timing of the shot. Did you
wait for the stingray to strike that pose? Colours nice and bold – moment caught well.
- Shifter – good composure & lighting – reminds me of the way you have composed that
shot of Bridgette. On topic but a little (oh hum) for my liking.
- Life on the Canals – Good HDR I thought you would like that software. Hey I really like
the exposure & tones of this image (although some halos) but I don’t see the
connection here with the subject. Again taken in April you basitdo!
- Scooter – ok interesting composition and DOF however again off topic for my liking so
is down here on the list.
All in all – I am liking what is coming through these days – however its a pity you are always
late with your submissions!

yesterday and that makes me pretty
close to being on time!
Here is my lot for the month.
One of these shots took 3 site visits
to site to get what I was after – can
you guess which one? Also noticed I
have cropped every shot this month
so I guess I was struggling a bit?

NEXT MONTH: Shutter Priority- Set by Sean

Martin's Pick - score and comments: "Blow"
I guess the topic allowed for a fair amount of licence
this month - which is good. But I think you would get
10 different responses from 10 different persons if
asked to explain technology. To me, technology is
attuned directly to our evolution and shapes our
present lives.
Two shots caught my eye for this month. Both of them
a simplistic capture - but well presented.
My pick for this month is Blow. It hits topic quite nicely
with it's pace. Exposure and shutter control superb.
Nicely balanced and easy on the eye.
Other image notes in order of merit:
- Radar – I really didn't like this at first glance. It
appeared to be taken by someone with a
camera - not a photographer. But the more I
saw past the tilting tower, boring colours and
cool bias, the more I liked the shot. By all
accounts it is not a show stopper, but it has
that little something..... It looks to be a multiple
exposure with a slow shutter?
- Drilled - Great subject matter. But I really would
have liked this more portrait, and definitely with
a looser crop.
- Towered – The off kilter tower hankers the
shot. Not sure of the effect? you have applied,
but I am not a fan. Nice contrast though.
- Saw toothed – Terrific exposure and nicely
framed. It doesn't rate for me however.
- Case – Nup, don't like it. I had a similar one
but couldn't use it.
