Martin's Photo notes

Decided to depart from the “nice to look at” shots, and bring in a
touch of shock value.
Some image notes –

  • Image was shot using a 70 – 200mm lens (macro) with
maxxed out ISO and fast shutter in  black and white mode.

  • The lovely model is yours truly.

  • The image has been cropped and dusted with ochre to
enhance visual impact, and hopefully cause some physical
    irritation to the viewer.
OK.... Right.... Yes.... Well.... I'll just put on my "colorful imagination cap"...

That's better. Now I see it. Great capture of a fine pooch ridding himself of surplus moisture.

The moderate shutter speed grabs just the right amount of movement and light to give the image a living feeling. I
really like the metallic effect. But what about the Topic - "Eye(s)"....

I just don't make a connection. Maybe if there was a bit more than a hint of eye to the left;..I don't know.

I understand your approach from deviating from the norm on
this one and yes I do get the shock intent you composed.

I am left with the tension the shot creates with the freaked
out expression held in your eye!

The Camera must of been some way from your face and I
am presuming some experimenting with the remote or timer
was conducted to achieve the right composition.

I think the vertical element adjacent your eye lets the image
down however the flame provides an element of interest -
not performing its dance the way in which it should? Wind is
it?

I am impressed with the level of difficultly on this image and
have marked you accordingly, Nice 1 bro - just a bit freaky
to put in a frame for my liking. But saying that may look
good on a CD cover for some sort of satanic music hits

I call it "Wet Head" here is a quick shot I took of our dog Clinton bro as he got out
of the pool.

The image is uncropped and ever so slightly adjusted in relation to the levels
(standard with me)

I really like the artistic swirls of the hair in this one and the hint of the eye to the left.

Taken on my widest lens from the deck chair

Can see your not impressed with my approach and set up

I added these
as others taken during this month
after the evaluation was conducted

This has spawned the new
framework of submitting a max of 3
images for review from this point
onwards - and the best one will be
chosen and evaluated
